what is mBraining? [What do you mean we have 3 brains?]

What is mBraining?

The latest findings in neuroscience show we have multiple intelligences.  Most people think we have one central intelligence, and that is it as far as our intelligence goes. But, wait!  There’s more!

We have more than one brain!  And this comes from multiple scientific studies that now recognise what ancient wisdom traditions have known for eons.

What is a brain?  Well, it is a complex network of different kinds of neurons that function in complex ways.  You already know about the brain in your head (the cephalic brain).  And you KNOW that science and those who study human behaviour know that what we thought we knew about the brain even 20 years ago is outdated.

FACT: approximately 65% of the cells of the heart are neurons, not muscle cells.  AND The heart generates the strongest electromagnetic field (far stronger than the cephalic brain).

Over two decades ago the pioneering work of neuro-cardiologist, Dr J Andrew Armour discovered that the heart is made up of a complex intrinsic neural network that has many types of neurons and is sufficiently sophisticated to qualify as a ‘brain’ in its own right.

FACT: the gut brain can learn, store memories and perform complex independent processing.  Our gastro-enteric system that found the gut also contains a complex and fully functional neural network, or ‘brain’.  And this comes from the work of neurobiologist Dr Michael Gershon.

You may have read recently about the ‘gut-brain’ axis, whereby the gut and the brain in the head communicate via the vagus nerve.

The 2 guys who created mBraining and mBIT, Marvin Oka and Grant Soosalu, realised over 13 years ago that these research findings (and many many others) were occurring in isolation from each other.  So they spent years gathering data and research, and quickly realised the implications of harnessing all the information into one body of knowledge.  And mBraining was born.

They helped to distill some of the latest neuroscientific (and biological and psychological and behaviour modelling, and more!) into a body of work that refers to these powerful, separate yet interconnected intelligences – the Head, the Heart, and the Gut – as brains.

mBraining is when you use our multiple brains together and when you do you can increase your intuitive abilities for wiser decision-making in your daily life.

How?  Simply by understanding and harnessing the capabilities of our multiple brains.   This requires you to pay attention to and work with the unique capabilities of each. This means letting the Heart do what the Heart is meant to do, and not letting the Head take over our Gut’s role.

Often times, we are stuck and from an mBraining perspective, one of our ‘brains’ is doing the work of another.  And you know this to be true if you have ever had a ‘gut instinct’ but just didn’t listen to it, and endured the not-so-pleasant results!

mBIT – or multiple Brain Integration Techniques – provides you with numerous practical and easy to learn techniques to get the your three brains working together, communicating in an aligned, harmonious way, using an integrated approach that is practical, powerful, and immediate in its results.  The head, heart and gut have different ways of processing the world with different concerns and domains of competence.

What does working with an mBIT Coach do? It teaches you how to overcome obstacles, helps you to gain courage, gives you access to the resources needed to push through fear and really start achieving your full potential.

some mBraining courses Beth offers:

EYW  Evolve Your World is a 2-day public course that provides the theoretical background, a forum for exploring what this means to you and areas of your life in which you may be stuck, and some practical (and very powerful) exercises to generate new possibilities in your self, your world, and in getting ‘unstuck.’

LDM Leadership Decision Making is specifically for leaders who understand how crucial their decision making process is. The importance of mBIT to you as a leader is vital.  It is crucial whenever making personal or group decisions that all three intelligences are accessed and incorporated into the decision-making process. Without the head intelligence, the decision will not have been properly thought through and analysed. Without the heart intelligence, there will not be sufficient values-driven emotional energy to care enough to act on or prioritize the decision against competing pressures. Without the gut intelligence there will not be sufficient attention to managing risks nor enough willpower to mobilize and execute the decision once challenges arise.

mBIT Coach Certification Training brings together all of the research findings along with behavioural modelling of the 3 brains into a practical framework that provides a set of self-evolutionary tools for wiser decision-making in all areas of life.  mBIT Certified Coaches continue to report that mBIT creates quicker and more lasting changes and is an elegant and powerful adjunct to their existing toolkits.  A 4-day intensive training that provides additional tools to your existing modality, whether you are a psychologist, counsellor, life coach, social worker, or anyone who supports clients to achieve growth and change.

Why is mBIT and mBraining unique?

When we are using our multiple intelligences (head, heart & gut) to the best of their capabilities, we are mBraining.  mBIT is an entire suite of powerful and easy to learn ‘multiple Brain Integration Techniques’.  mBraining:

  • gives you tools to balance your autonomic nervous system.
  • helps you , which when stressed, overly tired or not operating at our best can seriously derail us and cloud our thinking and decision making capabilities.
  • combines the latest neuroscientific research and findings with ancient wisdom, providing the most advanced and up-to-date approach to getting in touch with, aligning and tapping into our innate intelligences.  These multiple intelligences are working within you at every moment of your life.
  • allows you to more fully understand how you are doing ‘you’.
  • enables you to explore how to overcome obstacles and those feelings of being ‘stuck’ in powerful, elegant, and long-lasting ways.
  • It gives you greater insight into you.
  • supports you to strengthen and trust your intuition.
  • empowers you to transform how you are ‘showing up’ in your personal and professional life.
